Three-time Grammy Award winner Bad Bunny has been announced as the headline act for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Half-time Show.

Confirmation came during the interval of the Sunday Night Football game between Dallas and Green Bay, with the Puerto Rican performer charged with following on from Kendrick Lamar’s award-winning and most-watched half-time show from Super Bowl LIX this past February.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” admitted the 31-year-old, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Dubbed the ‘King of Latin Trap’, Bad Bunny is widely credited with boosting Spanish-language rap into the mainstream, but he is also a record producer, actor and sometime pro wrestler.

“What Benito has done, and continues to do, for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” commented Roc Nation’s Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter. “We are honoured to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

The announcement also confirms speculation that previously rumoured acts such as Taylor Swift, Adele and Miley Cyrus will not be appearing on stage in Santa Clara next February.
