CO-ORDINATED HIRES

Craig Llewellyn NFL

The 2026 NFL offseason coaching cycle (and in some cases, recycle) is in full swing, with teams across the league announcing a flurry of coordinator hires in the past few days.

From seasoned NFL play-callers returning to coordinator roles to rising assistants getting their first big opportunity, a full breakdown of the latest moves as teams build around new and returning head coaches is below, but expect teams to continue refining staffs as the offseason progresses.

Offensive Coordinator Hires

Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have officially hired Brian Angelichio as their offensive coordinator. Angelichio, most recently with the Minnesota Vikings as passing game coordinator and tight ends coach, will lead Pittsburgh’s offense under new head coach Mike McCarthy.

Arizona Cardinals
In his first major hire with the Cardinals, new head coach Mike LaFleur brought in erstwhile Denver Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett to be the team’s offensive coordinator. Initially linked with a move to Miami, Hackett returns to a coordinator role after prior stints with multiple NFL offenses, including Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers.

New York Jets
The Jets have hired Frank Reich as their new offensive coordinator. Reich, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers in recent years, returns to a coordinator post and will oversee an offense — and franchise in general — looking to rebound in 2026 under second-year HC Aaron Glenn. He was most recently working with the University of Stanford under his former Colts QB Andrew Luck.

New York Giants
Across town, the Giants are bringing in Matt Nagy as offensive coordinator. Nagy, who previously was the Kansas City Chiefs offensive play-caller and Chicago Bears head coach, will spearhead the Giants’ offense under new head coach John Harbaugh.

Denver Broncos
Denver has promoted Davis Webb from quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator to be the new OC at Mile High. Webb’s elevation provides continuity within the Broncos’ offensive staff, which retains Sean Payton at its head.

Buffalo Bills
The Bills have named Pete Carmichael Jr as their new offensive coordinator, adding to new head coach Joe Brady’s staff. Carmichael brings decades of NFL offensive experience to Buffalo.

Philadelphia Eagles
Philly has locked in Sean Mannion as offensive coordinator, hiring the former Packers quarterbacks coach to run an Eagles’ offense that will continue to feature Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.

Defensive Coordinator Hires

Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are turning to Anthony Weaver as their next defensive coordinator. Weaver returns to Baltimore after previous coaching stints and will lead the Ravens’ defensive unit under first-time head coach Jesse Minter.

Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are expected to hire Sean Duggan, formerly the Packers’ linebackers coach, as their defensive coordinator, a move that signals a fresh voice leading Miami’s defense as the team restarts under new head coach — and former Packers DC — Jeff Hafley.

San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have hired former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris as their defensive coordinator. Morris brings years of defensive experience, including previous head coaching assignments.

Tennessee Titans
Tennessee is adding former Jacksonville Jaguars HC Gus Bradley as defensive coordinator. Bradley, long a respected NFL defensive voice via previous DC jobs and head coaching experience — and the original playcaller for Seattle’s infamous Legion of Boom — follows new head coach Robert Saleh from San Francisco to Nashville.

Buffalo Bills
Alongside their offensive hire, the Bills are bringing in Jim Leonhard from Denver as their defensive coordinator, pairing him with Joe Brady’s offensive leadership.

Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have also filled their defensive playcaller role, hiring Patrick Graham as defensive coordinator. Graham, a veteran NFL defensive coach with previous DC experience in New York, Miami and Las Vegas, will complement Pittsburgh’s revamped staff under Mike McCarthy following the departure of Mike Tomlin
