COWBOYS-CHIEFS TO HEADLINE THANKSGIVING

The mention of the Dallas Cowboys playing in primetime often results in eye-rolling amongst fans of the other 31 NFL team, but the spotlight isn’t getting any kinder for Big D as their tough opening night fixture against divisional rival Philadelphia has been joined by an equally difficult showdown on Thanksgiving Day as the Kansas City Chiefs come to town.

CBS pre-empted Wednesday’s full 2025 schedule release with another early announcement, confirming that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be heading to Texas in what will be a homecoming of sorts for the three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback. It will be a first appearance in Dallas for the Tyler native, and only his second game against the Cowboys, having not played a part in the same matchup during his rookie season.

The announcement also confirms a second game on the Chiefs 2025 docket, having previously been slated against AFC West rival Denver on Christmas Day. No strangers to primetime, the Chiefs have not played on Thanksgiving for nearly 20 years, and hold an even 5-5 record on the holiday. Both teams will face 10 opponents who made the postseason in 2024.
