Week 9 was an exciting week of NFL action. The Bears and Bengals forgot how to play on defense. The Panthers sprung a surprise by beating the Packers in Green Bay. And the Miami Dolphins waved goodbye to GM Chris Grier following their Thursday Night Football loss to the Ravens that saw them drop to 2-7 in 2025.

There were a few significant historical milestones passed too. Jaguars’ kicker Cam Little set a new NFL record with a 68-yard field goal against the Raiders that probably would have been good from 70. Travis Kelce became just the fourth tight end in NFL history with at least 500 receiving yards in 12 different seasons. And Christian McCaffrey had his 15th career game with both a receiving and rushing touchdown, the most such games by anyone in the history of the league.

Let’s get to the Week 10 games.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) @ Green Bay Packers (5-2-1)

The reigning Super Bowl champions were big winners in Week 9 without even playing a game, as leading NFC contenders like the Packers and Detroit Lions dropped home games they were expected to win. If the season ended today (spoiler alert – it won’t) then the Eagles would own home field advantage throughout the postseason as the No.1 seed in the NFC.

The Eagles won their last two games before a Week 9 bye, the second of which came over the New York Giants on the back of a dominant ground game. Both Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby rushed for over 100-yards. Jalen Hurts was without star wide receiver A.J. Brown, but he didn’t miss a beat. Indeed, before the bye Hurts had three touchdown passes with a 158.3 passer rating – the highest attainable mark – in Week 7 and four touchdown passes, including his 100th regular-season touchdown pass, with a 141.5 passer rating in Week 8. Devonta Smith has found form of late, ranking fourth in the NFL with 430 receiving yards since October came around.

The Eagles’ defense has been impacted by injuries and absences this season, but is well led by linebacker Zack Baun, who has 3.0 sacks and five tackles for loss so far.

The Packers lost star tight end Tucker Kraft to a torn ACL last week, a huge blow with Kraft leading the team with 489 receiving yards. Romeo Doubs will have to pick up the slack and seems well placed to do so with at least five receptions and 50+ receiving yards in four of his last five games. Micah Parsons will go head-to-head with his former NFC East rivals, and he has enjoyed some production against the Eagles. He has 5.0 sacks and a force fumble in seven career meetings. The Eagles have won four of the last five games between these two sides, although the Packers did take the game the last time it was hosted at Lambeau Field back in 2020.

PREDICTION: Eagles fly high and improve to 7-2.

WELL WORTH A WATCH

New England Patriots (7-2) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2)

The Tom Brady Bowl comes from sunny Tampa in Week 10, as the AFC East leading Patriots travel to take on the Buccaneers, who sit atop the NFC South.

The Patriots have won their last six games, tied for the longest active streak in the NFL, while the Bucs currently sit as the No.2 seed in the NFC with their 6-2 record and important tiebreakers in the bank. This is the first time since Week 16, 2023 (Baltimore vs. San Francisco) that the teams with the best record or tied for the best record in each conference will meet in the regular season.

Patriots quarterback and MVP candidate Drake Maye had 259 pass yards and two touchdowns with a 102.5 passer rating in Week 9, his 8th consecutive game with 200+ pass yards & 100.0+ passer rating. He’s the fourth player in NFL history to do so (Aaron Rodgers (12 consecutive games in 2011 and eight in 2020), Tom Brady (eight in 2007) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning (eight in 2004) and the first under the age of 24. Maye’s go to guy this year has been Stefon Diggs, who has found the endzone in his last two games and ranks fifth in the league between 2016-25 with 72 receiving scores. Patriots’ cornerback Carlton Davis notched six tackles, and a pass break up in Week 9. His 87 passes defended since 2018 are the fourth most in the league, with 73 coming during his time with the Buccaneers.

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield has at least two touchdown passes in two of his last three home games, as well as posting a 90+ passer rating in five games this season. The Bucs receiving corps is one of the most battered units across the entire NFL, and is currently being led by rookie Emeka Egbuka, who has 34 receptions for a team-high 562 yards and five scores. Rachaad White has held the fort while stud running back Bucky Irving recovers from injury and is one of a select number of players this season with 20+ receptions, 115+ receiving yards, 75 carries, at least two rush TDs and 2+ receiving scores. Before the bye week, safety Antoine Winfield Jr. recorded his first two takeaways (one interception, one fumble recovery) of the season and since entering the NFL in 2020, is one of two players, along with Pittsburgh linebacker T.J. Watt, with 10 fumble recoveries

PREDICTION: A quarterback duel Tom Brady would be proud to be a part of is ultimately won by the home side, with the Bucs staying close to the Eagles in the NFC

Atlanta Falcons (3-5) @ Indianapolis Colts (7-2)

Berlin becomes the third German city to host an NFL regular season game, joining Munich and Frankfurt, with the Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts squaring off to start Sunday’s action in Week 10. Both sides need to bounce back from disappointing Week 9 showings, with the Colts turning the ball over six times against the Steelers and a missed extra point costing the Falcons an overtime stab at victory over the Patriots.

The German crowd will be treated to a clash between two of the league’s most electrifying running backs in Jonathan Taylor and Bijan Robinson. Taylor ranks second in the NFL with 1,113 scrimmage yards this season while Robinson ranks third with 1,058 scrimmage yards. It will mark the first game since Week 10, 2002 (Pro Football Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk and LaDainian Tomlinson) to feature opposing players each with at least 1,000 scrimmage yards in Week 10 or earlier. The Falcons boast a 2-2 record in International Series games, while the Colts are 1-1 with a game in Germany already under their belts.

Falcons quarterback Michael Penix set a career-mark with three touchdown passes in the loss to the Patriots, with all three going to Drake London. London has at least eight receptions, 100-receiving yards and a score in three of his last four games. The Falcons come into the game leading the league in pass defense, allowing just 158 yards through the air per game.

The Colts lead the league in scoring (32.2 points per game) and are second in passing yards, averaging 257 per game. Daniel Jones racked up a season-high 342 yards & had his 13th-career with both a passing and a rushing score against the Steelers. His favourite target this season has been Michael Pittman, who has 52 receptions for 561 yards, giving him 50+ catches & 500+ rec. yards in each of his last five seasons.

The Colts made a massive trade at the deadline, sending two first-rounders to the Jets for cornerback Sauce Gardner, though it might be too early for him to make an impact here. The Colts own a 15-3 advantage in this series, though the Falcons have won two of the last four meetings.

PREDICTION: Colts continue their love affair with Germany and bounce back after last weeks loss to move to 8-2

Las Vegas Raiders (2-6) @ Denver Broncos (7-2)

The Raiders have lost their last two games, despite a monster outing from Brock Bowers against the Jaguars last week. The Broncos have a share for the longest active winning streak in the league (six games). Can the Raiders snap their losing streak, or will the Broncos continue to set the pace in the AFC West?

New Orleans Saints (1-8) @ Carolina Panthers (5-4)

The Saints are firmly in contention to land the first overall pick in 2026. The Panthers are firmly in the NFC Wild Card race. Can the Saint’s pick up their first road win under Kellen Moore, or will the Panthers unlikely playoff push continue?

New York Giants (2-7) @ Chicago Bears (5-3)

The feel-good vibes from the Giants have all but vanished during a three-game losing streak. The Bears have won five of their last six, including a crazy win over the Bengals last time out. Can the Giants pick up their first road win of the season, or will the Bears suddenly dominant ground game feast on a hapless Giants defensive front?

Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3) @ Houston Texans (3-5)

I don’t know what to make of either of these teams. Can the Jaguars build on last weeks win over the Raiders and start their playoff push, or will the Texans offense finally start meeting their defense halfway and get them back in the AFC South hunt?

Buffalo Bills (6-2) @ Miami Dolphins (2-7)

The Bills have won their last two games as they look to keep pace with the AFC East leading Patriots. The Dolphins fell to the Ravens last Thursday night, a loss that brought the end of the Chris Grier era in South Beach. Can Josh Allen continue his dominant production against the Dolphins, or will the Dolphins pitiful run defense keep James Cook at bay for a morale boosting Dolphin victory?

Baltimore Ravens (3-5) @ Minnesota Vikings (4-4)

The Ravens have won their last two games and are starting to flex their muscles in a weirdly up and down AFC North. The Vikings are the only team in the NFC North with less than five wins in 2025. Can Lamar Jackson engineer a midseason playoff push, or will the sack hungry Vikings defense feast on their way to a second win under J.J. McCarthy?

Cleveland Browns (2-6) @ New York Jets (1-7)

Both sides would be picking in the top six of the 2026 NFL Draft if the season were to end today. The Browns lost to the Patriots before their bye week despite five sacks from Myles Garrett. The Jets secured Aaron Glenn’s first win as head coach in a crazy comeback against the Bengals before their week off, before trading away defensive centrepieces Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams on Tuesday. Can the Browns take advantage of the gaps in the defense, or will the Jets circle the wagons to secure their first winning streak of the season.

Arizona Cardinals (3-5) @ Seattle Seahawks (6-2)

The Cardinals snapped their losing streak with a win over the Cowboys on Monday night. The Seahawks sit tied for lead in the NFC West and have won their last three games. Can freshly anointed starter Jacoby Brissett string two wins together, or will the Seahawks and Sam Darnold continue their hot streak?

Los Angeles Rams (6-2) @ San Francisco 49ers (6-3)

These two sides, along with the Seahawks, are selling the notion of the NFC West as the “Division of Hell” for 2025. The Rams have won three straight games while the injury ravaged Niners just keep plodding along. Can the Rams avenge their last gasp loss from Week 5, or will Shanahan continue to hold sway over his most famed apprentice?

Detroit Lions (5-3) @ Washington Commanders (3-6)

The Lions lost at home for the first time in 2025 against the Vikings last week and fall to the seven seed in the NFC playoff race. The Commanders have lost their last four games and could be without Jayden Daniels for the remainder of the season. Will the Lions rebound from their loss, or can Marcus Mariota rally his battered troops to get back to winning ways?

Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3) @ Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)

The Steelers held on to upset the Colts last week and stay top of the AFC North. The Chargers took care of business against the hapless Titans and remain in the hunt for the AFC West behind the Broncos. Aaron Rodgers has 166 career touchdown passes in primetime, the most all-time. Justin Herbert last week recorded his 50th career game with multiple touchdown passes, one of five quarterbacks all-time with 50 such games in their first six career seasons. Will the travelling Steelers fans make this road game sound like a home win, or can the Chargers keep their hopes of a division crown alive?
