DAZN WEEKEND PREVIEW: WEEK 18

Neil Dutton NFL

The final week of the 2025 NFL regular season is upon us, but there is still a whole lot to play for, with two playoff spots, four division titles and the top seed in both conferences all up for grabs.

Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia and Green Bay have all punched their postseason tickets in the NFC, while the winner of the NFC South — and the final NFC playoff team — will be either Carolina or Tampa Bay.

In the AFC, Denver, New England, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Houston and the Los Angeles Chargers are locked into playoff berths, with the winner of Baltimore versus Pittsburgh deciding the final AFC playoff team.

Both #1 seeds remain undecided, with top spot in the NFC resting on the head-to-head finale between Seattle and San Francisco, whereas the AFC crown could go one of three ways, with the Broncos, Patriots and Jaguars all mathematically in the running.

With no Monday Night Football this week, everything will be known by Monday morning so, for one last time this regular season, let’s get into the games.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Carolina Panthers (8-8) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-9)

It’s a quick rematch from Week 16, where the Panthers took down the Bucs 23-20 and edged ahead in the race for the NFC South title. Now that title is there to be won… but it’s a bit complicated.

Carolina can clinch its first division title since 2015 with a win or an Atlanta victory over New Orleans. Tampa Bay needs a win along with a Saints victory to win the division for a fifth consecutive season. Only a Panthers win on Saturday can see this division officially wrapped up, as Buccaneers victory will lead to a Sunday of tense game watching for both teams and their fans.

The Panthers’ Week 16 win is their only such success in the last six meetings between these two sides, although they do own a 26-24 series lead against the Bucs.

PREDICTION: Carolina don’t need any help from the Falcons as they pull out the win and punch their playoff ticket.

WELL WORTH A WATCH

Seattle Seahawks (13-3) at San Francisco 49ers (12-4)

Quite simply, this game is for all the marbles, with the NFC West division title along with the top seed, lone first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs going to the winner.

Both teams might rightly question why it’s not Game of the Week.

The meeting nicely bookends the 2025 season after the sides met in Week 1, with the 49ers taking home a 17-13 victory with just under two minutes left to play. A win for the Seahawks this time would give them a franchise record 14 regular season wins, and a return to the top seed in the NFC they have not enjoyed since 2014 — a season that ended with them lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

A 49ers win would give them a third division title in four years and a third #1 seed in the last seven. They’ve made the Super Bowl each time they’ve claimed the top spot under Kyle Shanahan, and have earned the NFC’s #1 seed ten times since 1975, more than any other club in that span.

The Seahawks lead the all-time head-to-head 31-24, but have only beaten the 49ers once since the 2021 season.

PREDICTION: It’s a thriller, as it always is between these two sides, but the 49ers do just enough to take home the prizes and condemn the Seahawks to the fifth seed.

Baltimore Ravens (8-8) at Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7)

The 272nd and final regular season game of the season comes from the Steel City, with the Steelers welcoming their old AFC North foes to settle the destiny of the division title.

The Steelers won the Week 14 matchup between these two bitter rivals, as well as five of the last six regular season meetings, and are currently enjoying a 22nd consecutive season with a record above .500, but have not claimed the division since 2020. The Ravens, meanwhile, are looking to earn a third consecutive division title for the first time in their history.

A win for the Ravens would see them become just the third side since 1970 to win their division after starting 1-5 and the first since Washington in 2020. Derrick Henry is coming off a 216-yard outing in Week 17 and needs just 31 rushing yards against the Steelers to reach 1,500 in a season for the fifth time.

PREDICTION: The Ravens close out the regular season with a win that sends them into the playoffs… and Aaron Rodgers into retirement?

ALSO ON IN WEEK 18

Cleveland Browns (4-12) at Cincinnati Bengals (6-10)

The Browns pulled off the upset and beat the Steelers last week, but Myles Garrett is still tantalisingly one sack away from a new single-season record. The Bengals took care of the Cardinals and have won two in a row since Joe Burrow’s return. Can Garrett inspire his men to a morale-boosting season ending victory, or will the Bengals offense have their way in this Battle of Ohio?

Dallas Cowboys (7-8-1) at New York Giants (3-13)

The Cowboys saw off the Commanders on Christmas Day while the Giants played their way out of the first overall pick by beating the Raiders on Sunday. Which of these two underachievers — who engaged in a barnburner earlier in the year — will go into the offseason with some bragging rights secured?

New Orleans Saints (6-10) at Atlanta Falcons (7-9)

The Saints are ending the season hot and have won their last four games behind rookie QB Tyler Shough. Ditto the Falcons, who are on a three-game win streak of their own. This game could be huge, depending on the outcome of the Panthers-Bucs clash, with Atlanta having the opportunity to stick it to their big rivals — but even if it’s not, one of these two even more bitter rivals will end their season on a high.

Tennessee Titans (3-13) at Jacksonville Jaguars (12-4)

The Titans fell to the Saints last week and are all set for another top five pick in the NFL Draft come April. The Jaguars held off the Colts for their seventh win in a row and still have a chance at clinching the #1 seed in the AFC. Will the Titans end their season on a high, or will the Jaguars — who can still be pipped to the divisional title — get the win and then wait for potential losses for the Broncos and Patriots to earn that top seed?

Green Bay Packers (9-6-1) at Minnesota Vikings (8-8)

The Packers lost to the Ravens and are locked into the #7 seed in the NFC. The Vikings, meanwhile, ended the Lions’ playoff hopes and have now won four in a row with a motley assortment of QBs. Can the Vikings end a disappointing season with a winning record, or will the Packers take a 10-win campaign into the offseason?

Indianapolis Colts (8-8) at Houston Texans (11-5)

The Colts finally hit the buffers and saw their playoff hopes come crashing down after racking up six straight losses. The Texans have won eight games on the bounce and are just the fifth team since 1990 to start 0-3 and make the playoffs. Can the Riley Leonard-led Colts end their season on a high, or can the Texans earn their second ever 12-win campaign and hope for a Jaguars loss to give them the AFC South division title?

Kansas City Chiefs (6-10) at Las Vegas Raiders (2-14)

The Chiefs have lost their last five games and are set to earn a top ten pick for the first time since they picked OT Eric Fisher first overall in 2013. The Raiders have all but sewn up the first overall pick in the 2026 draft after ten straight losses. Can the Chiefs end the season, and possibly the Travis Kelce era, with a win, or do the Raiders have enough to snap their losing streak?

Washington Commanders (4-12) at Philadelphia Eagles (11-5)

The Commanders fell to a second straight defeat against the Cowboys on Christmas Day, keeping them in the hunt for a top ten draft pick in 2026. The Eagles held on to beat the Bills in the rain, their third win on the trot, and can still claim the #2 seed in the NFC. Can the Commanders end a lost season with a morale-boosting win, or will the Eagles — who may rest some players — hold up their end of the bargain and pick up the win they need to stay in the hunt for the second seed?

New York Jets (3-13) at Buffalo Bills (11-5)

The Jets have lost four in a row and are still looking for their first interception of the season. The Bills hopes of winning the AFC East are over, but they’ll be looking to close out their time at the Ralph Wilson Stadium in style. Can the Jets rescue some pride, or will the Bills inflict more misery on their near rivals?

Arizona Cardinals (3-13) at Los Angeles Rams (11-5)

The Cardinals have lost eight in a row and it’s beginning to look like a thorough housecleaning is coming once the season ends. The Rams picked the worst possible time to start a losing streak after dropping their last two games and losing their chance to earn the NFC’s #1 seed. Can the Cardinals win the ‘We Left St. Louis’ Bowl, or will the Rams head into the postseason with some momentum?

Miami Dolphins (7-9) at New England Patriots (13-3)

The Dolphins put a dent in the Buccaneers’ playoff hopes last week as Quinn Ewers earned his first win as a starter. The Patriots, meanwhile, dismantled the Jets and have two in a row as they remain in play for the top seed in the AFC. Can the Dolphins spoil the Patriots party, or will the Patriots get the win they need while waiting for a possible Broncos slip-up to earn the #1 seed?

Detroit Lions (8-8) at Chicago Bears (11-5)

The Lions fell to a third straight loss on Christmas Day and will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2022. The Bears lost a thriller to the 49ers and have left the door open for the Eagles to pinch the #2 seed in the NFC. Can Dan Campbell get one over on former OC Ben Johnson, or will the Bears get the win they need to deny the Eagles?

Los Angeles Chargers (11-5) at Denver Broncos (13-3)

The Chargers’ recent winning run came to an end at the hands of the Texans in Week 17, but they’re still heading into the playoffs. As are the Broncos, who saw off the Chiefs to clinch their first AFC West title since 2015 and are still very much in the hunt for the AFC’s top seed. Can the Chargers rediscover their mojo ahead of the playoffs, or will the Broncos clinch the top seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs?
