DIFFERENT TRIAL IN TOUGH YEAR FOR SNEED, TITANS

It’s not exactly been a dream period for cornerback L’Jarius Sneed since he was traded to the Tennessee Titans after starring for the Kansas City Chiefs — and things just got tougher.

Sneed has played just 12 games in the last two seasons, with zero interceptions and just three pass break-ups, before landing on injured reserve in 2025 with a quad injury. However, he now faces a much more pressing trial than getting back on the field.

A grand jury in Dallas County, Texas, indicted Sneed on Tuesday (11th November) for ‘failure to report a felony where a reasonable person would have believed serious bodily harm or death may have resulted’. This offense is a Class A misdemeanour and punishable by a maximum of one year in jail, a $4,000 fine or both.

However, there is also a pending civil suit being levied against Sneed, with plaintiffs seeking more than $1m in restitution. The suit, brought by Christian Nshimiyimana and Avi Ahmed, alleges that Sneed and his personal assistant fired multiple times at Nshimiyimana, who was sitting inside a parked car in the Carrollton suburb of Dallas. According to reports, Sneed’s assistant, with whom he no longer associates, is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, actions to which Sneed is accused of witnessing.

In a statement to team beat reporter Paul Kuharsky, the Titans said, ‘We are aware of the legal matter with L’Jarius Sneed and have remained in contact with NFL security per league protocol. We will have no further comment during an ongoing investigation’.
