EARLY 2026 DRAFT ORDER LOCKED IN
The final week of the 2025 NFL regular season finalised much of the top half of the draft order ahead of the league’s annual selection process in April.
Those teams not making the playoffs now know where they will line up to take top collegiate talent in a class headlined by elite prospects at quarterback. At the top of the order for the Pittsburgh-based event, the Las Vegas Raiders secured the #1 overall pick after finishing with a share of the league’s poorest record, going 3-14 along with the three clubs immediately behind them. Top spot positions Vegas nicely to take a quarterback first overall, with Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza making his case to be the selection.
Behind the Raiders, the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans all posted identical 3-14 records and had to be split by strength-of-schedule tiebreakers. In another bad year for the Big Apple, the New York Giants hold the fifth overall pick, just a week after being able to seize top spot in a loser-takes-all battle with the Raiders. Big Blue will be followed by the Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints — who rose under the leadership of rookie QB Tyler Shough — Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
Just outside the top ten, the Miami Dolphins will pick at #11, ahead of the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams (courtesy of an additional pick from Atlanta), Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Jets have a second first-round pick at 16, received from Indianapolis in the Sauce Gardner trade, coming in ahead of the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, before the list arrives at the playoff teams, who will be slotted in according to record based on how far into the postseason they progress.
Although the early draft order now set, things could yet change as a result of trades and deals done through the free agency period that precedes the selection of new blood.
