GREEN ROOM PLAYERS NAMED FOR 2025 DRAFT
The 90th Annual National Football League Player Selection Meeting will have no fewer than 17 prospects in attendance when events kick off in Green Bay on Thursday night.
Opening night, April 24th, will see all 32 teams make a selection in their originally-slotted positions (as things stand pending any future trades), before the draft continues through Friday with rounds two and three, into Saturday, when the final four rounds will play out.
The first round opens at 8pm ET (1am BST) and is expected to conclude by approximately 11:30pm ET, based on last year’s opening selections taking up three hours and 36 minutes. Day two kicks off at 7pm ET (midnight BST) and the second and third rounds took a combined four hours and nine minutes in 2024. The final session begins at noon ET (5pm BST) and is expected to take in the region of seven hours to complete. There will be 257 selections in all, including 35 compensatory picks that have been awarded to 16 teams.
Round one affords teams 10 minutes per selection, before round two drops the limits to seven minutes. Rounds three through six, including compensatory picks, get five minutes per selection, while the seventh and final round is further reduced to just four minutes per selection.
Three colleges – Alabama (three players), Georgia (two) and Michigan (two) – will have multiple players on-site for the event, with the SEC leading all conferences with nine prospects confirmed to attend, followed by the Big Ten (four), Big 12 (two), Atlantic Coast Conference (one) and Mountain West Conference (one). All invitees are expected to be first round selections, but that has not prevented some from having to return on day two in previous years. Notable absentees from the current list, who may have decided to celebrate their selection at home or with team-mates, include Shedeur Sanders (QB, Colorado), both highly-rated TEs Tyler Warren (Penn State) and Colston Loveland (Michigan), wide receivers Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State) and Luther Burden III (Missouri), the latter’s Tigers team-mate Armand Membou (OT) and potential top ten picks Walter Nolen (DT, Mississippi) and Jahdae Barron (DB, Texas).
