GRIDIRON POWER RANKINGS 2025: WEEK 10
Welcome to Gridiron’s Week 10 power ranking, where ongoing unpredictability in the NFL means ongoing unpredictability in Nicholas McGee’s mind.
GRIDIRON POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 10
1. Los Angeles Rams (7-2) +4
The most complete team in football? There’s some questions about the secondary, but it’s tough to pick many other holes ahead of a blockbuster clash with the Seahawks.
2. New England Patriots (8-2) +9
Right now, the MVP race looks like a straight shootout between Rams star Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye.
3. Indianapolis Colts (8-2) -2
Jonathan Taylor might have something to say about the MVP race. The Colts were grateful to him in a surprisingly unconvincing win over the Falcons in Germany.
4. Detroit Lions (6-3) -2
Back on track after the shock loss to the Vikings, the Lions are a team in need of a statement showing akin to their win over the Buccaneers last month.
5. Seattle Seahawks (7-2) +1
That lack of a statement win is the only real reason to have pause about the Seahawks, who can add one to their name on Sunday.
6. Denver Broncos (8-2) -2
The Broncos haven’t lost since I last did these rankings. They also haven’t produced much offense.
7. Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) +1
Speaking of a lack of offense…. Thankfully the Eagles have Vic Fangio calling the defense.
8. Los Angeles Chargers (7-3) +5
Jim Harbaugh is working his voodoo magic again, and Justin Herbert is playing like a player who deserves MVP votes.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3) -6
Baker Mayfield was very critical of the Tampa Bay offense after the loss to New England. They can’t afford more off-colour performances with the Bills and Rams up next.
10. Buffalo Bills (6-3) =
Going from beating the Chiefs to losing to the Dolphins is a fitting encapsulation of the season for Buffalo.
11. Kansas City Chiefs (5-4) -4
The Chiefs head to Denver suddenly with very little room for error in the playoff race.
12. Green Bay Packers (5-3-1) -3
Tucker Kraft might have been the Jenga piece for the Green Bay offense. This is a weird team with a difficult stretch run after what should be a cakewalk against the Giants.
13. San Francisco 49ers (6-4) -1
Brock Purdy looks set to finally make his return this week. A favourable schedule over the coming weeks should aid his efforts to get the perennially banged-up Niners to the playoffs.
14. Chicago Bears (6-3) +2
The kings of close wins over not-so-good teams, the Bears get the not-so-good Vikings this week.
15. Baltimore Ravens (4-5) +2
Lamar Jackson now has a sore knee, but the Ravens are on the rise and just a game back in the AFC North.
16. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-4) -1
It might be time to consider panicking in Pittsburgh. It definitely will be if they lose to Joe Flacco and the Bengals again.
17. Houston Texans (4-5) +2
The Texans kept their postseason hopes alive with a bonkers comeback, and a game with the Titans should further aid their cause this week.
18. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-4) -4
Their remarkable collapse in Houston summed up a maddening season, one which is already over for Travis Hunter.
19. Carolina Panthers (5-5) -1
The questions around Bryce Young are growing again after a no-show against the Saints.
20. Minnesota Vikings (4-5) +2
An impossible team to understand. This is the kind of variance that often comes when starting a quarterback who missed his entire rookie year through injury.
21. Dallas Cowboys (3-5-1) =
Football isn’t important right now for the Cowboys following a tragic turn of events. They will try to win one in their team-mate’s honour against the Raiders.
22. Atlanta Falcons (3-6) -2
The Falcons lost a thriller with the Colts in Berlin, leaving their playoff hopes hanging by a thread.
23. Cincinnati Bengals (3-6) +1
Joe Burrow’s return is on the horizon, and the Bengals’ season will have life if they can sweep the Steelers.
24. Miami Dolphins (3-7) +5
After stunning the Bills, the Dolphins have a favourable schedule and the chance to build some momentum that could help Mike McDaniel save his job.
25. Washington Commanders (3-7) -2
The 2025 season has been one huge bump back down to earth for the Commanders. It’s hard to see any reason to bring back Jayden Daniels for the stretch run.
26. Arizona Cardinals (3-6) -1
Most of the Cardinals’ games this season have been close. Last Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks was anything but.
27. New York Giants (2-8) -1
Brian Daboll is gone after the Giants’ season went sideways in a hurry. Don’t expect things to get much better against a very annoyed Packers team.
28. New York Jets (2-7) +2
There are shoots of optimism for the Jets after back-to-back wins. That winning streak will probably end against New England.
29. Cleveland Browns (2-7) -2
Another week of feeling sorry for a Cleveland defense that has no support.
30. New Orleans Saints (2-7) +1
Congratulations to Tyler Shough on his first win as a starter.
31.Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) -3
The Raiders’ points totals in their last three road games: 6, 0, 7. Thankfully, their next two games are at home.
32. Tennessee Titans (1-8) =
The potential return of Jeffery Simmons might make this team a little more interesting.
