GRIDIRON POWER RANKINGS 2025: WEEK 4

Nicholas McGee NFL

Welcome to Gridiron’s Week 4 power ranking, where the reshuffle continues apace as teams continue to defy expectation.

GRIDIRON POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 3

1. Buffalo Bills (4-0) =

The Saints hung around for a little while, but there’s still no reason to believe this isn’t the best team in football through four weeks.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (4-0) +1

A big-time test passed in Tampa Bay. Another beckons against Denver’s defense.

3. Detroit Lions (3-1) +1

Remember that panic after Week 1? Me neither.

4. Los Angeles Rams (3-1) +5

The Rams took all the Colts could give them in Week 4, now they appear poised to take control of the NFC West.

5. Los Angeles Chargers (3-1) -3

Dropping a game to Jaxson Dart and the Giants was very old school Chargers. They need to respond against the Commanders.

6. Indianapolis Colts (3-1) =

No shame in a narrow loss to the Rams. The Colts are still in a strong position in the AFC South, but they have company.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0) =

Similarly there’s little reason to panic about the Bucs after coming up short against the Eagles. Bucky Irving and Emeka Egbuka are blossoming into bonafide stars. A mouthwatering clash with the Seahawks awaits.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) +9

The Jags are taking the ball away at will, if they can avoid self-inflicted wounds, Jacksonville can contend in the AFC.

9. Green Bay Packers (2-1-1) -4

A decidedly weird two weeks for Green Bay, with the Packers failing to win two games that looked like gimmes. They have a bye to shake that off and get ready for what’s left of the Bengals.

10. Seattle Seahawks (3-1) +1

The Seahawks did their best to throw away the win against Arizona, but a victory over Tampa Bay would solidify them as a force in the NFC.

11. Kansas City Chiefs (2-2) +2

A giant sigh from around the league as the Chiefs appeared to find their groove against Baltimore. But was it relief or trepidation?

12. San Francisco 49ers (3-1) -4

It would be unfair to drop a team so badly affected by injuries too far, but these are worrying times for the undermanned Niners heading into a primetime clash with the Rams.

13. Denver Broncos (2-2) +1

It will take more than a beatdown of the Bengals to trust in this team. Defeating the Eagles would generate a lot of respect.

14. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) +4

After holding off the Vikings in Ireland, the Steelers have the chance to build some serious momentum with the Browns and Bengals up next after their bye.

15. Washington Commanders (2-2) -5

It’s difficult to judge the Commanders properly until they get Jayden Daniels back. Still, right now, the 2024 magic looks to have faded somewhat.

16. Atlanta Falcons (2-2) +5

The Falcons got all their offensive stars firing on all cylinders against the Commanders. A very encouraging sign with the Bills up next in primetime after the bye.

17. Baltimore Ravens (2-1) -5

All of a sudden, the Ravens are on life support. Their injury list rivals that of the Niners, and their season will be over if Lamar Jackson misses an extended period of time.

18. Arizona Cardinals (2-2) -2

There was talk not that long ago of the Cardinals winning the NFC West. Don’t let this week’s get right game with the Titans fool you into thinking that’s a serious possibility.

19. Chicago Bears (2-2) +1

Needing a blocked field goal to beat the Raiders isn’t a great look, but it smacked of a game the Bears would have lost a year ago.

20. Minnesota Vikings (2-2) -5

The old adage goes that, if you have two quarterbacks, you have none. I think this applies here. A game against the Browns’ defense looks ominous for Carson Wentz.

21. Dallas Cowboys (1-2-1) +2

One of the most entertaining ties you’ll see. The kind of game the Cowboys might have won with an elite pass rusher.

22. Houston Texans (1-3) +3

The Texans’ season is just about alive after shutting out Tennessee. Now there’s a golden opportunity to get back into the thick of things against the banged-up Ravens.

23. New England Patriots (2-2) +4

It was only the Panthers, but an utterly dominant performance by Drake Maye and Co. Should breed great hope in New England.

24. New York Giants (1-3) +5

An incredible result for Jaxson Dart on his debut. With the Saints next, things could soon be looking up for one team in New York.

25. Carolina Panthers (1-3) -6

A giant step forward against the Falcons, followed by what felt like 20 steps back against New England.

26. Miami Dolphins (1-3) +3

A pyrrhic victory for the Dolphins as they claimed a desperately needed win over the Jets. Another must-win comes against Carolina this week.

27. Cleveland Browns (1-3) -3

The Dillon Gabriel era starts this week as the Browns desperately search for offense, but a rookie making his debut against Brian Flores seems like a recipe for disaster.

28. Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) -2

Not the start anyone in Vegas envisioned after their offseason. An upset is needed against the Colts to save their season.

29. Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) -7

The season is over for the Bengals. Consecutive games with the Lions and Packers in the coming weeks will confirm that.

30. New Orleans Saints (0-4) +1

It briefly looked like the Saints might do the unthinkable in Buffalo. They deserve credit for competing in three of their four games.

31. New York Jets (0-4) -3

A team that cannot get out of their own way. The Jets have also lost their defensive identity. Another long and miserable season beckons.

32. Tennessee Titans (0-4) =

It’s difficult to see the Titans moving off this spot. Cam Ward is already being failed, and a change in coach can’t come soon enough.
