GRIDIRON POWER RANKINGS 2025: WEEK 7
Welcome to Gridiron’s Week 7 power ranking, where top teams playing each other has reshuffled the order of things once again.
GRIDIRON POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 7
1. Indianapolis Colts (6-1) +2
The Colts have the best record in football and, right now, they undeniably pass the eye test as the best team in football.
2. Detroit Lions (5-2) =
An extremely impressive win on both sides of the ball for the Lions. The rest of the NFC is in big trouble if the Lions can defend like that consistently.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) -2
The Mike Evans injury is a huge shame that ends his 1,000-yard streak after 11 consecutive seasons. More worryingly, the Bucs looked a little too one-dimensional amid the continued absence of Bucky Irving.
4. Denver Broncos (5-2) =
The game of the year in Denver shouldn’t mask questions about how they let the Giants get so far ahead in the first place, but the Broncos’ ability to claw their way back is a very good sign for the stretch run.
5. Los Angeles Rams (5-2) +4
A remarkable display in London from a Rams team missing Puka Nacua that didn’t even land until the day before. They are very, very dangerous.
6. Seattle Seahawks (5-2) +1
The Seahawks might have lost to Houston if the Texans’ offense had been able to show any kind of competence, but head into the bye looking like a legitimate contender.
7. Kansas City Chiefs (4-3) +5
It was only the Raiders, but the Chiefs were devastatingly good in Week 7. Suddenly, they look like a potential one seed in the AFC.
8. Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) +3
The win over Minnesota still wasn’t overly convincing, but it was arguably the best the Eagles have looked all season.
9. San Francisco 49ers (5-2) +1
If Kyle Shanahan doesn’t get Coach of the Year then the award is meaningless.
10. Green Bay Packers (4-1-1) -5
The Packers have only lost one game but haven’t looked impressive since Week 1.
11. Buffalo Bills (4-2) -5
Perhaps it’s not fair to drop Buffalo so far after a bye, but their performance against the Falcons looks worse after Atlanta’s defeat out west.
12. New England Patriots (5-2) +4
A bit of a slow start in Tennessee gave way to the expected beatdown of the Titans. The Cleveland defense will provide a better test for Drake Maye in Week 8.
13. Chicago Bears (4-2) +4
Four straight wins for the Bears. We’ll know a lot more about how real their rise is when they face a desperate Ravens team on Sunday.
14. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3) -6
An utterly embarrassing showing for the Jaguars in London. Mercifully, they now get a bye and then a game with the Raiders.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) -1
Sure, Aaron Rodgers was excellent against Cincinnati, but it’s not a great sign that the Joe Flacco-led Bengals moved the ball so effectively against the Pittsburgh defense. Next up, a Rodgers reunion with Green Bay in primetime.
16. Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) -1
The Chargers insist on making life as hard as possible for Justin Herbert, and it’s going to result in another ultimately disappointing season.
17. Carolina Panthers (4-3) +3
The Panthers didn’t have to do anything special to beat the Jets, but they did it. More intriguing tests from the Bills and Packers lie in wait.
18. Atlanta Falcons (3-3) -5
Shut down by the Nick Bosa and Fred Warner-less Niners, questions about Michael Penix are gradually emerging.
19. Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) +2
The Cowboys took advantage of a slow and sneaky bad Commanders defense. That’s not what they’re facing in Week 8 against the Broncos.
20. Minnesota Vikings (3-3) -1
It would have cost the Vikings a lot of money to pay Sam Darnold, but not doing so now looks completely ridiculous.
21. Washington Commanders (3-4) -3
No Jayden Daniels against Kansas City for the Commanders, whose season will soon be circling the drain.
22. Cincinnati Bengals (3-4) +8
Suddenly, things don’t look quite so gloomy for the Bengals after their win over Pittsburgh. Take care of business against the Jets and Cincy will be back at .500.
23. Houston Texans (2-4) -1
Another atrocious offensive performance in Seattle from Houston. Sunday’s game with the injury-ravaged Niners is a kitchen-sink contest for the Texans.
24. Baltimore Ravens (1-5)=
Lamar is back in Week 8. No excuses for the Ravens not to save their season.
25. New York Giants (2-5) -2
Jaxson Dart looks like the potential answer at QB. Collapses like the Giants had in Denver are a reminder Brian Daboll probably isn’t the solution at head coach.
26. Arizona Cardinals (2-5) -1
The Cardinals have played seven one-score games so far in 2025. At least it’s an entertaining lost season.
27. Cleveland Browns (2-5) +1
It’s tough to get too excited about beating the Dolphins, but the Browns did it emphatically, with Quinshon Judkins continuing to thrive.
28. Las Vegas Raiders (2-5) -2
Very fortunate to be moving down just two spots. The Raiders had three first downs against the Chiefs. Three.
29. New Orleans Saints (1-6) -2
The record isn’t Spencer Rattler’s fault, but we might see Tyler Shough before too long.
30. Miami Dolphins (1-6) -1
It’s a matter of time for Mike McDaniel. It would be no surprise to see him back on Kyle Shanahan’s staff before the year is out.
31. Tennessee Titans (1-6) =
Mike McCoy didn’t improve the Titans. Stunner. Meanwhile, Cam Ward is continually making catastrophic errors.
32. New York Jets (0-7) =
The highlight of the Jets’ season might end up being a young fan going viral for saying how much he hates his team.
