JACOBS ARRESTED ON ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS
The Green Bay Packers are facing fresh uncertainty ahead of the 2026 season after running back Josh Jacobs was arrested in Wisconsin on multiple charges linked to an alleged domestic disturbance.
According to the NFL’s official report, Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday and booked into Brown County Jail following what the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department described as a disturbance complaint on Saturday morning. Authorities said the 28-year-old faces five charges, including felony strangulation and suffocation, along with misdemeanour counts relating to battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and intimidation of a victim.
Although Hobart-Lawrence Police are not expected to release any further details while the investigation is ongoing, Jacobs, through attorneys David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Clarence Duchac, denied the allegations.
“Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public,” an official statement from the law firm, posted on social media, confirmed. “We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.”
The Packers also acknowledged the situation, with the standard ‘We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs’ response being followed by a similar statement about issuing no further comment at this point.
Jacobs is entering his third season in Green Bay after signing a four-year deal with the franchise in 2024. The former Las Vegas Raiders first-round pick remains one of the NFL’s most productive backs, having led the league in rushing in 2022 while earning first-team All-Pro honours and three Pro Bowl selections across his career.
Regardless of the legal process, Jacobs could face additional discipline from the league under its personal conduct policy, but possible sanctions will not be discussed while the investigation continues.
