MORE EMMY SUCCESS FOR NFL FILMS
The NFL’s growing dominance of sports storytelling was underlined again on Tuesday night as the league collected eight Sports Emmy Awards across NFL Films, NFL Network, NFL Marketing and Mundo NFL productions.
Leading the haul was Netflix series Quarterback, which secured the award for Outstanding Sports Documentary Series: Serialized — the first Sports Emmy victory for the Peyton Manning-backed production from NFL Films, Omaha Productions and 2PM Productions.
The success continued another remarkable year for NFL Films, which added five more Sports Emmys to its long-standing collection and pushed its all-time total to 146 awards.
Among the standout winners was Hard Knocks, with Hard Knocks: In Season with the NFC East earning Outstanding Sports Writing: Long Form after NFL Films won the same category a year earlier. Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills also captured Outstanding Sports Audio/Sound: Post-Produced.
NFL Films Presents: Tim Green – A Voice Reclaimed received recognition in the Outstanding Sports Feature: Long Form category, honouring the emotional documentary centred on former Atlanta Falcons linebacker and broadcaster Tim Green and his battle with ALS.
Another high-profile NFL-backed production, America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys, won Outstanding Sports Open/Tease. The Netflix series explored the rise of the Dallas Cowboys under owner Jerry Jones and was produced in conjunction with Skydance Sports, NFL Films and Stardust Frames Productions.
The league also continued to receive recognition for its social impact campaigns. The NFL’s marketing division won Outstanding Public Service Content: Sports for Super Bowl LX: Champion, marking the second consecutive year — and third time in four years — that the league has won the category.
Meanwhile, former Carolina Panthers tight end and current FOX analyst Greg Olsen collected the award for Outstanding Sports Personality: Event Analyst following another season of high-profile NFL broadcasting work. It is especially notable for Olsen, who was moved aside in the pecking order following the arrival of Tom Brady to the FOX booth.
Spanish-language coverage was also recognised, with Mundo Originals: Los Colores del Istmo earning Outstanding Sports Feature Story in Spanish for Mundo NFL.
The awards further cement the NFL’s position not only as the dominant force in American sports television ratings, but increasingly as one of the most influential producers of premium sports documentary content across both traditional broadcasters and streaming platforms.
