NFL FILMS SETS RECORD WITH 23 EMMY NODS
The NFL has received 32 Sports Emmy nominations across its media and production arms, with NFL Films leading the way after a record-breaking year for the company.
Announced on March 25th, the nominations span NFL Films, NFL Network, NFL Media and marketing and international output, underlining the league’s continued dominance in sports storytelling and broadcast production.
NFL Films accounted for 23 nominations — the highest total in its 63-year history — highlighted by five nominations for NFL Films Presents across multiple categories, including documentary, writing and camera work. The division also secured recognition for projects beyond traditional football coverage, with WWE: Unreal earning three nominations in its debut season and Quarterback again shortlisted in the serialised documentary category.
The long-running Hard Knocks series added four nominations across its training camp and in-season editions, while NFL Game Day All Access received its fifth consecutive nomination for edited event coverage, this time for its Super Bowl LX programme. Road to the Super Bowl was also recognised in the same category.
On-screen talent was also acknowledged, with NFL Network’s Rich Eisen nominated for Outstanding Sports Personality: Studio Host for his work across NFL GameDay Morning, major event coverage and The Rich Eisen Show.
Beyond NFL Films, the league’s broader media operation earned nominations across a wide range of categories, including documentary, public service content and live event programming. Among them was NFL Explained: Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, while the NFL’s Super Bowl LX campaign was recognised in the public service category.
The league said the nominations reflect the continued strength of its content portfolio, noting that NFL programming accounted for 86 of the top 100 television broadcasts in the United States during the 2025 calendar year.
The 47th Annual Sports Emmy Awards are scheduled to take place on May 26th in New York.
