The NFL and NFLPA have agreed on a figure of $279.2m for next season’s salary cap, an increase of $23.8m over 2024.

The number, which falls within the projected range for the 2025 cap was revealed by NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, claiming sources informed of the decision, and represents another record high for the financial boundaries within which teams must operate.

Last year’s figure of $255.4m was a new record in itself, and the 2025 number represents an escalation in excess of $100m over the $177m permitted just seven years ago. Teams can begin working with the new amount when the 2025 league year commences on 12th March.
