NFL TO JOIN CELEBRATIONS OF AMERICA’S 250TH
The NFL will join the nationwide celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary in 2026.
Starting in Week 18 and continuing through the playoffs, teams and stadiums will feature America 250 branding, including commemorative footballs, sideline stencils and special coin-toss coins that will later be auctioned for charity.
Coaches and staff will wear themed apparel, and fans will have access to club-specific America 250 merchandise. Broadcasts will also highlight the celebration, including a special God Bless America performance. The NFL will extend these commemorations to major 2026 events such as Super Bowl LX in the San Francisco Bay Area and the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.
“The NFL is proud to participate in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. “The story of the NFL reflects the story of America, and the American spirit of resilience, innovation and teamwork has helped football grow into a cultural pastime that unites us all. We are excited to honour our country’s history and celebrate our collective future.”
This participation continues the league’s tradition of marking major national milestones. In 1976, the NFL celebrated America’s 200th anniversary, including on-field recognition through special helmet decals and jersey patches.
