Nicholas McGee’s 2025 Mock Draft

Nicholas McGee NFL

PICK #1
TENNESSEE TITANS
This one has for all intents and purposes been written in pen for a while. It’s a reach in a disappointing quarterback class, but Ward gives the Titans a playmaker under center who also operates very well in the pocket.
Biggest Needs: QB, WR, LB, EDGE, CB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: CAM WARD, QB, Miami

PICK #2
CLEVELAND BROWNS
Will he be able to play both ways full-time? Probably not. But playing on a still extremely talented Cleveland defense, he can develop into a top-tier starting cornerback with the upside to make a sporadic impact as a receiver.
Biggest Needs: QB, WR, OL, CB, EDGE
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: TRAVIS HUNTER, WR/CB, Colorado

PICK #3
NEW YORK GIANTS
The Giants land the best pass rusher in the draft and weaponise a front already featuring Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns.
Biggest Needs: QB, OG, EDGE, DT, WR
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: ABDUL CARTER, EDGE, Penn State

PICK #4
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Arm length talk be damned. It’s time to get Drake Maye some protection.
Biggest Needs: OT, WR, EDGE, OG, RB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: WILL CAMPBELL, OT, LSU

PICK #5
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
There has been talk of the Jags looking elsewhere but, after a dramatic offseason in Jacksonville, the Jags should do the smart thing and take the best player on board, one who can be a game wrecker from the interior from day one.
Biggest Needs: DT, TE, CB, S, WR
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: MASON GRAHAM, DT, Michigan

PICK #6
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Sure, Pete Carroll likes running backs and Ashton Jeanty is amazing, but I encourage you to look at the Raiders’ receiver depth chart. Not great, Bob. The Raiders can wait to take a back on day two.
Biggest Needs: CB, LB, WR, RB, OG
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: TETAIROA McMILLAN, WR, Arizona

PICK #7
NEW YORK JETS
Shedeur Sanders is still on the board, but the Jets would be much better served by adding to Olu Fashanu and Alijah Vera-Tucker up front and putting their eventual long-term solution at quarterback in a strong position to succeed with excellent protection.
Biggest Needs: OT, WR, TE, CB, DT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: ARMAND MEMBOU, OT, Missouri

PICK #8
CAROLINA PANTHERS
There’s some injury concern, but the Panthers can put their secondary in an excellent spot with this selection and then focus on adding to the defensive front later on.
Biggest Needs: EDGE, S, LB, WR, OT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: WILL JOHNSON, CB, Michigan

PICK #9
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Sanders lands in the best spot possible in the top 10, getting the chance to link up with a coach in Kellen Moore who has the ability to maximise his strengths.
Biggest Needs: DT, CB, OT, LB, QB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: SHEDEUR SANDERS, QB, Colorado

PICK #10
CHICAGO BEARS
Ben Johnson gets his Chicago version of Jahmyr Gibbs, giving Caleb Williams a hugely enticing group of skill-position weapons.
Biggest Needs: RB, EDGE, S, OT, LB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: ASHTON JEANTY, RB, Boise State

PICK #11
SAN FRANCISCO 49ers
The 49ers need to come out of this draft with vastly improved defensive line depth, and this pick would instantly upgrade their run defense and offer huge pass-rushing upside.
Biggest Needs: EDGE, DT, OG, LB, OT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: WALTER NOLEN, DT, Ole Miss

PICK #12
DALLAS COWBOYS
The Cowboys would seriously benefit from wide receiver help, but their pass rush would be ferocious with the addition of Green to their front.
Biggest Needs: WR, DT, RB, EDGE, LB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: MIKE GREEN, EDGE, Marshall

PICK #13
MIAMI DOLPHINS
While the offensive line remains an issue, the Dolphins should jump at the chance to add a versatile chess piece to their secondary.
Biggest Needs: CB, OT, DT, S, TE
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: JAHDAE BARRON, CB, Texas

PICK #14
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The Colts’ quarterback situation is a mess, but Warren will make life a lot easier on whoever wins that position battle with his mouth-watering and multifaceted skill set.
Biggest Needs: TE, LB, EDGE, OG, OC
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: TYLER WARREN, TE, Penn State

PICK #15
ATLANTA FALCONS
The first round must be about boosting the pass rush for Atlanta. This might be a little early for Ezeiruaku, but it’s tough to argue with his outstanding 2024 production.
Biggest Needs: EDGE, OC, S, DT, LB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: DONOVAN EZEIRUAKU, EDGE, Boston College

PICK #16
ARIZONA CARDINALS
The Cardinals are the beneficiaries of a slide, landing one of the best defenders in the draft who can be an immediate asset at safety and with his coverage ability from the slot.
Biggest Needs: CB, LB, EDGE, DT, OT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: MALAKI STARKS, S, Georgia

PICK #17
CINCINNATI BENGALS
The Bengals get a gift with a versatile banshee falling into their grasp, giving them a potential solution at edge rusher and linebacker.
Biggest Needs: EDGE, OG, S, DT, CB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: JALON WALKER, LB, Georgia

PICK #18
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Banks can start day one at tackle or guard. Moving him inside would address a huge need on offense and shore up the protection for Sam Darnold.
Biggest Needs: OG, WR, OT, CB, DT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: KELVIN BANKS Jr, OL, Texas

PICK #19
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
There’s some injury concern here, but an archetype modern-day linebacker who can also make an impact sporadically off the edge will benefit hugely from learning from Lavonte David.
Biggest Needs: LB, EDGE, CB, S, OL
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: JIHAAD CAMPBELL, LB, Alabama

PICK #20
DENVER BRONCOS
Sean Payton has made no secret of his desire to add offensive difference-makers in the draft. Enter one of the draft process’ biggest risers.
Biggest Needs: RB, WR, LB, DT, TE
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: MATTHEW GOLDEN, WR, Texas

PICK #21
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Ready for a stunner? There is a third quarterback in the first round, but it’s not Jaxson Dart, as the Steelers instead take a huge swing on a gifted athlete with a very live arm. It might not work, but the Steelers have made worse bets in previous years.
Biggest Needs: QB, DT, RB, CB, OL
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: JALEN MILROE, QB, Alabama

PICK #22
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
The Chargers get Justin Herbert some more help with a gifted pass-catching tight end many see as a potential top-10 pick.
Biggest Needs: DT, EDGE, CB, TE, WR
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: COLSTON LOVELAND, TE, Michigan

PICK #23
GREEN BAY PACKERS
Full disclosure, I consulted my Packers fan brother on this one. He went with a sizeable presence on the outside adding to a receiving corps that lacks a true No. 1.
Biggest Needs: EDGE, CB, DT, LB, WR
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: JAYDEN HIGGINS, WR, Iowa State

PICK #24
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Minnesota invested heavily in the defensive front in free agency, but the defensive backfield is also in need of some care and attention.
Biggest Needs: CB, S, DT, OG, OT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: TREY AMOS, CB, Ole Miss

PICK #25
HOUSTON TEXANS
With Tank Dell on the shelf for some time and Stefon Diggs’ brief time in Houston at an end, the Texans add big play potential to their receiver room.
Biggest Needs: OT, OG, DT, WR, S
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: LUTHER BURDEN III, WR, Missouri

PICK #26
LOS ANGELES RAMS
The Rams get arguably the best offensive lineman in the draft at a bargain price for a long-term answer at either tackle spot.
Biggest Needs: CB, LB, OT, S, TE
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: JOSH SIMMONS, OT, Ohio State

PICK #27
BALTIMORE RAVENS
James Pearce lands in the perfect spot in which to develop his pass-rush skill set and wreak havoc off the edge.
Biggest Needs: OG, CB, DT, EDGE, LB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: JAMES PEARCE Jr, EDGE, Tennessee

PICK #28
DETROIT LIONS
For as much as Tim Patrick is a feel-good story, adding to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams would be too good of an opportunity for the Lions to pass up.
Biggest Needs: EDGE, OG, WR, S, DT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: EMEKA EGBUKA, WR, Ohio State

PICK #29
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Brian Robinson is a free agent next offseason, so Washington opts for an imposing and explosive new lead back who can do significant damage paired with Jayden Daniels.
Biggest Needs: EDGE, CB, WR, RB, OT
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: OMARION HAMPTON, RB, North Carolina

PICK #30
BUFFALO BILLS
The production isn’t there, in part because he played hurt for much of last season, but Williams is a physical freak who can play inside and out and should at least be an instant asset in run defense.
Biggest Needs: CB, DT, LB, RB, WR
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: MYKEL WILLIAMS, EDGE, Georgia

PICK #31
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
The Chiefs get Chris Jones a very exciting running mate in the middle of the trenches at a very reasonable price.
Biggest Needs: DT, OG, OT, TE, CB
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: DERRICK HARMON, DT, Oregon

PICK #32
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
The rich get richer as the Eagles add a phenomenal athlete with a frightening combination of size, speed and instincts to their secondary.
Biggest Needs: S, DT, EDGE, CB, TE
McGEE’S MOCK DRAFT 1st Round Selection: NICK EMMANWORI, S, South Carolina
