Nike and the NFL have unveiled eight team uniforms as part of their new joint ‘Rivalries’ initiative, as announced earlier this year.

The uniforms are designed to ‘celebrate storied local traditions and unite fan communities with designs unique to select cities and teams’, with the AFC East and NFC West chosen as the first divisions to be involved in the programme.

“The unveiling of the first eight Rivalries club uniforms and fan gear marks a significant moment for the NFL, Nike and Fanatics, as creativity and innovation merge together to deliver a new take on what it means to be a rival,” Taryn Hutt, vice president of club marketing at the NFL, insisted. “Rivalries will bring fresh energy to the field with each new uniform, while providing a platform to amplify the community and hometown pride that is rooted in each NFL fan.”

The first cohort of Rivalries teams will debut their new uniforms — each designed by Nike — during a single upcoming home game against a division rival. According to the designers, each uniform is ‘rooted extensively in the legacies and inspirations true to each team, serving as an authentic, competitive expression of community pride while allowing athletes and fans to connect like never before’.

“Nike has a rich history with football, and we’re excited to partner with the NFL on this new Rivalries programme to help grow the sport and expand it for the next generation,” said Ryan Airhart, director of NFL product design at the sports apparel giant. “Each uniform was designed in collaboration with the club it represents to authentically reflect what makes their team, fans and communities wholly unique.”

After their on-field debut, the Rivalries uniforms will be included in their team’s rotation for three years, alongside existing alternate uniforms. Additional Rivalries uniforms will debut during the 2026, 2027 and 2028 seasons. Fans will also be able to show their support by purchasing Rivalries jerseys, sideline apparel and headwear, along with fan gear including T-shirts, hoodies and jackets. Riddell will also offer all eight Rivalries helmets in multiple sizes as collectibles for fans, who can look out for limited-edition items created in collaboration with clubs and local brands dropping near each Rivalries game.

Games designer EA will support Nike and the NFL by integrating Rivalries-themed updates into Madden 26 throughout the year, including enhanced in-game experiences with Nike Rivalries jerseys, unique Rivalries-themed stadium updates and content updates throughout varying game modes.
