PLAYOFF LINEUP CONFIRMED AFTER WEEK 18 DRAMA
The 2025 NFL regular season concluded Sunday, setting the stage for the playoffs with a full 14-team field ready for Wild Card Weekend.
Top seeded Denver Broncos (AFC) and Seattle Seahawks (NFC) earned the first-round byes and will advance directly to the Divisional Round, and will retain home-field advantage for as long as they remain in the competition prior to Super Bowl LX, which takes place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara for the second time.
Wild Card Weekend gets underway on Saturday (10th January) as the NFC’s #5 seed Los Angeles Rams travel to face the fourth-seeded Carolina Panthers, who made the postseason despite finishing with a losing record, courtesy of topping a three-way tie in the NFC South. Although Tampa Bay beat the Panthers on the final day of the regular season, Atlanta’s later victory over New Orleans ensured it would be Carolina progressing. The Rams and Panthers kick off at 4.30pm ET, and will be followed by the #7 seed Green Bay Packers, who enter the playoffs on a four-game losing streak, at second seed — and long-time NFC North rival — Chicago Bears in prime time.
Sunday’s slate begins with an AFC matchup that is potentially the best of the lot, as the sixth-seed Buffalo Bills visit the number three team, Jacksonville Jaguars. Later in the afternoon, the #6 San Francisco 49ers will play the reigning champion, and #3 seed, Philadelphia Eagles before the evening concludes with the AFC’s #7 Los Angeles Chargers taking on #2 New England Patriots under the Sunday night lights at Gillette Stadium.
The weekend’s final game occurs at 8pm ET on Monday (12th January) when the #5 Houston Texans travel to take on the #4 Pittsburgh Steelers after the latter squeezed in by the width of rookie kicker Tyler Loop’s missed last-ditch field goal for Baltimore.
With this bracket set, Divisional Round matchups will follow the weekend of January 17–18th, leading into Conference Championships on 25th January and Super Bowl LX on Sunday 8th February.
