Preview: NFL Scouting Combine 2025

Craig Llewellyn NFL

Live coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine, offering a first look at a 2025 draft class led by quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, edge Abdul Carter, wide receiver Travis Hunter and a host of running backs set to counter the recent dearth of talent at the position, begins on Tuesday (25th February) as NFL Network honours its 20th year of Combine coverage with in excess of 50 hours of on-the-spot broadcasting. Following the recent schedule tweaks for the event, that coverage extends into primetime with the first of the on-field drills — five hours of defensive linemen and linebackers — opening proceedings at 3pm ET.

Coverage continues with six hours of defensive backs and tight ends on Friday before the players most fans, casual or otherwise, want to watch arrives on Saturday, as the quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs get their chance to show out in front of potential employers. Eight hours of live coverage will be devoted to the so-called ‘skill positions’, before NFL Network concludes its programming with the offensive linemen drills on Sunday.

Alongside Sanders (Colorado) and Ward (Miami), Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss), Quinn Ewers (Texas), Dillon Gabriel (Oregon), Jalen Milroe (Alabama) and Kyle McCord (Syracuse) will head up the quarterback talent on show, while Ashton Jeanty (Boise State) heads a deep running back group that also includes TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins (Ohio State), Dylan Sampson (Tennessee), Omarion Hampton (North Carolina) and Kaleb Johnson (Iow).

The wide receiver class is headlined by Luther Burden III (Missouri) and Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona), although the likes of Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond (Texas), Emeka Egbuka (Ohio State) and Jalen Royals (Utah State) may have something to say about that. Penn State’s Tyler Warren is the consensus number one tight end, with Colston Loveland (Michigan), Mason Taylor (LSU), Harold Fannin Jr (Bowling Green) and Gunnar Helm (Texas) hanging on his coat-tails.

In the trenches, look for Armand Membou (Missouri), Kelvin Banks Jr (Texas), Will Campbell (LSU), Donovan Jackson (Ohio State) and Tyler Booker (Alabama) to star on the offensive side, and Walter Nolen (Mississippi), Michigan duo Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant, Derrick Harmon (Oregon), Tyleik Williams (Ohio State) and Alfred Collins (Texas) to weigh in on the defensive side.

In addition to Penn State’s Carter, the defensive wrecking balls on show will also feature ends the calibre of Mykel Williams (Georgia), Mike Green (Marshall), Shemar Stewart (Texas A&M) and Donovan Ezeiruaku (Boston College), with Georgia’s Jalon Walker leading a linebacking corps that also includes Carson Schwesinger (UCLA), Jihaad Campbell (Alabama) and Demetrius Knight Jr (South Carolina) at its sharp end.

The defensive back class is led by reigning Heisman Trophy winner Hunter (Colorado), but also includes Will Johnson (Michigan), Azareye’h Thomas (Florida State) and Jahdae Barron (Texas) at corner, with Xavier Watts (Notre Dame), Nick Emmanwori (South Carolina), Billy Bowman Jr (Oklahoma) and Malaki Starks (Georgia) expected to uphold safety honour.

Last, but definitely not least, specialists on show include punters James Burnip (Alabama) and Jeremy Crawshaw (Florida) and kickers Tyler Loop (Arizona) and Andres Borregales (Miami).

As usual, lead draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah and host Rich Eisen will anchor the network’s coverage, joined by Charles Davis, Bucky Brooks, Ian Rapoport, Marc Ross, Lance Zierlein, Stacey Dales, Tom Pelissero, Chris Rose, Peter Schrager, Kimmi Chex, Rhett Lewis, Judy Battista and, for the quarterback portion, Kurt Warner in what is an all-star lineup.

Lewis, Brooks and Zierlein will preview each day’s on-field action, and discuss which prospects can help their draft stock, on Combine Today on YouTube and the NFL’s FAST channel, while Chex provides interviews with top prospects following their workouts. New editions of various NFL Media Podcasts will be available throughout Combine week, while Schrager will be reporting live from Indianapolis for Good Morning Football.
