RAMS EXTEND McVAY, SNEAD
The Los Angeles Rams have signed general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to multi-year contract extensions, securing the leadership duo that has defined the franchise’s modern era.
“As we enter their 10th season together, it is only fitting to reflect on the tremendous success Sean and Les have brought to this franchise, and the indelible impact they have made on Los Angeles and the NFL,” Rams owner/chairman E. Stanley Kroenke said. “They continue to embody the standard of this franchise to compete for championships… and we are thrilled they will be leading the Los Angeles Rams for years to come.”
Since beginning their partnership in 2017, Snead and McVay have compiled a 92-57 regular-season record, a 10-6 playoff mark, two Super Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl LVI championship. The Rams have also won two NFC Championships, four NFC West titles and reached the playoffs seven times, posting winning records in eight of nine seasons. Their combined 102 total wins rank second among active head coach–general manager duos and 15th all-time in NFL history.
McVay reflected on the milestone earlier this year when asked about the duo reaching 100 wins together.
“I have a lot of gratitude, a lot of reflection of the appreciation for finishing up the ninth regular season here,” McVay said on January 5th. “You don’t take that for granted… I can’t say enough about how special the relationship between Les and I is.
“I love Les. He does an excellent job and I’m really fortunate to be partnered up with him… Our relationship and our collaboration has only gotten stronger as we’ve accumulated experience and that’s rare in this business.”
McVay’s résumé includes becoming the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl, lead a team to a Super Bowl and win AP Coach of the Year. In 2025, he joined Curly Lambeau and George Halas as the only coaches in NFL history to reach 100 wins before turning 40.
Under McVay, the Rams have ranked in the top 11 in scoring offense six times and led the NFL in both scoring and total offense in 2025.
Snead, the winningest general manager in franchise history, has overseen multiple AP award winners, 19 Pro Bowl selections and 12 First-Team All-Pro honours, while guiding both the aggressive roster construction that produced a Super Bowl title and a post-2022 remodel that returned the Rams to the playoffs in three consecutive seasons.
Snead and McVay enter 2026 tied for the longest-tenured active head coach–general manager partnership in the NFL alongside those in Kansas City (Andy Reid and Brett Veach) and San Francisco (Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch).
