Ravens extend head coach Harbaugh
The Baltimore Ravens have ensured continuity in the immediate pursuit of another Lombardi trophy by signing head coach John Harbaugh to a three-year contract extension.
Harbaugh sits second only to AFC North rival Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh Steelers) in terms of the NFL’s longest-tenured head coaches and his new deal, which extends through the 2028 season, will take him to 20 years in charge of the Baltimore franchise. The 62-year-old has taken his team to the postseason 12 times over his first 17 seasons — a feat only achieved by a select group comprising joining Pete Carroll, Bud Grant, Mike Holmgren and Mike McCarthy — while his 13 career playoff wins are tied with Holmgren for the seventh most in NFL history. His eight postseason wins on the road remains the outright NFL record.
Harbaugh will return to the fray in 2025 with the Ravens looking to become the first AFC North team to achieve a divisional title ‘three-peat’ and add to the six crowns already amassed under his leadership. Harbaugh has a career regular-season record of 172-104, and heads into the new season with perennial MVP candidate Lamar Jackson under center and both Derrick Henry and new arrival DeAndre Hopkins joining him on offense.
