The nominees are in from the 32 NFL teams for the annual Art Rooney Award, created in 2014 to honoUr the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is awarded to players who exemplify exceptional on-field sportsmanship.

“Sportsmanship is at the very core of the game, the foundation of our values ​​that are shared across all levels of the sport,” said Troy Vincent, NFL executive vice president of football operations. “These Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominees demonstrate to the world how the game is played with respect and integrity at the highest level of competition.”

A panel of former players will narrow the list to eight finalists (four AFC, four NFC), who will appear on the Pro Bowl ballot for players to vote on in December. The panel consists of former Falcons and Buccaneers running back Warrick Dunn, 2014 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award recipient Larry Fitzgerald, Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Curtis Martin and former Bengals safety Leonard Wheeler. Along with the award, the winner receives a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of his choice.

Previous winners of the award include Charles Woodson (2015), Drew Brees (2018), and Josh Allen, who won the award in 2024.
