SNOOP DOGG HEADLINES NFL CHRISTMAS ENTERTAINMENT
Christmas Day football and Netflix is fast becoming a new NFL tradition, and this year is no different, with a festive double-header on the streaming platform.
NFL Christmas Gameday returns to Netflix in 2025 with Dallas Cowboys playing the Washington Commanders at 1pm ET, followed by the Detroit Lions visiting the Minnesota Vikings — complete with a holiday party featuring a very special guest.
20-time Grammy nominated rapper Snoop Dogg will take centre stage for ‘Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party’
“Christmas Gameday just got a whole lot cooler,” Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria claimed. “We’re uniting two global cultural juggernauts in the NFL and the one-and-only Snoop Dogg, who will drop the hottest half-time show. As a West Coast girl and huge fan myself, I can confidently say this is the ultimate gift we could give our members. We’re ready to drop it like it’s hot this holiday celebration!”
The party is expected to include plenty of familiar chart-topping tracks, holiday spirit and special guests, as the NFL and pop culture continue a collaboration that began with Thanksgiving and continues to expand along with the league calendar. Last year, Netflix kicked off its inaugural Christmas Gameday with international superstar Beyoncé performing at half-time of the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texas game.
“NFL, Netflix and your uncle Snoop on Christmas Day?” this year’s star attraction asked. “We’re servin’ up music, love and good vibes for the whole world to enjoy. That’s the kind of holiday magic Santa can’t fit in a bag.”
Snoop has long-established links to the NFL through the formation of the Snoop Youth Football League 20 years ago. The league has since seen more than 40 kids make it to the NFL, including Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross, Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley and Green Bay Packers wideout Romeo Doubs.
Continuing the tradition started in 2024, each NFL team playing on Christmas Day will be wearing a festive, holiday-inspired patch on their uniform in both their Week 16 and Christmas Day games. The 2025 holiday jersey patch captures the festive flavour of football during the holiday season, with two candy canes backing the traditional NFL shield.
