While much of the European professional football community appears set on pulling itself apart of late, there was some good news coming out of France as the Paris Musketeers confirmed that 2025 head coach Jack Del Rio would be returning for the 2026 campaign.

The former NFL head coach is one of the most respected defensive strategists in American football, and brought a level of commitment, experience and leadership to the Musketeers organisation that profoundly impacted its 2025 record. His return marks a major milestone as the club prepares to build an ambitious team for 2026, and provides continuation of the momentum and culture he established during his first year at the helm.

We are thrilled to be back in Paris,” Del Rio said in an official statement. “There is something truly special happening here — the dedication of our players, the passion of our team, and the opportunity to play American football in this incredible city.

Our ownership is committed to building a championship-calibre team and developing this sport in the right way. Last season’s experience — the fans, the energy, the culture, the relationships — reminded me why I coach… because I love this game, teaching, leading, and competing. We are building something real and lasting, not just for the Paris Musketeers, but for the future of American football in Europe.”

Leadership, discipline and ambition characterised the Musketeers under Del Rio’s hand in 2025, and the team was unfortunate not to make the playoffs after a heart-breaking overtime loss in Vienna on the final weekend of the regular season.

Jack’s impact on our organisation has been immense,” Paris president and CEO John McKeon commented. “His professionalism, energy and performance standards have elevated every aspect of our club — from the locker room culture to how we prepare for and play our games.

Jack’s return is a strategic choice based on continuity, trust, and the ambition to build something lasting for the development of American football in Europe. We are honoured to have him back with us for 2026.”
