EFA CONFIRMS KICKOFF AMID MAKEOVER

Craig Llewellyn March 4, 2026 World Football

The European Football Alliance has unveiled a new logo as preparations continue for an inaugural season which, it was also revealed, will kick off on 15th May.

The new identity marks another milestone for the competition as it moves from planning to on-field action. With the rival American Football League Europe (AFLE) having established its own graphical presence several weeks ago, the EFA is a little behind on the timeline as both organisations strive to position themselves as the home of professional American football in Europe.

The revised EFA branding, which replaces an established logo that leaned a little too closely to that of the European Union, centres on a clean, modern green-and-white palette, with the initials EFA presented in bold block lettering. A stylised football graphic forms part of the makeover, with the ball’s laces subtly integrated into the design to reinforce the league’s core identity. The roundel, which is bordered by the words European Football Alliance, is intended for use across merchandise, broadcast graphics and digital platforms.

League officials say the visual identity is designed to emphasise clarity, unity and continental scope, reflecting the competition’s ambition to bring together established markets and emerging football programmes under a single banner.

The announcement comes as the EFA continues final preparations for its debut campaign, which will feature seven established teams from Europe’s most prominent American-football markets. The 15th May kickoff date also precedes the AFLE’s recently-announced 22nd May start — with more than a few observers wondering if there had been a waiting game in play to ensure the EFA gains the most eyeballs as football restarts on the old continent.

With branding now established and a start date confirmed, the EFA intends to reveal its 2026 schedule within the next 24 hours, allowing it then build fan engagement and deliver the first chapter in what its management group hope will become a long-term fixture in the European football landscape.
