FLORES-CALDERON BOLSTERS WROCLAW RECEIVERS
Panthers Wrocław have moved to reinforce an already deep receiving unit ahead of the 2026 American Football League Europe season, adding Juan Flores-Calderón to their roster.
At 22, the Spanish wideout arrives with a growing European résumé, having developed with Milano Seamen between 2018 and 2024 before earning wider recognition in the European League of Football. His breakout came in 2023, when he claimed Rookie of the Year honours, and he followed that with a productive stint with the Madrid Bravos in 2025, which further underlined his ability to produce despite competition for targets.
While Wrocław adds a receiver with proven red-zone efficiency and vertical threat, Flores-Calderón admits that his knowledge of his new surroundings is limited, if not entirely absent.
“I’ve never been to Wrocław, but I’ve been following the team’s performance in recent seasons,” he claimed. “However, the only thing I’ve heard about the city itself is that there are dwarf figurines all over the place!”
The receiver’s development across Europe has always been underpinned by an emphasis on cohesion within the offense, something he is keen to foster at his new team.
“I’ve always said that success in this sport is only possible when everyone on the team is on the same wavelength,” he explained. “Communication with the offensive coordinator, quarterback and other players in the skill formation is key.
A dedication to personal preparation translated directly to production last season, where his 11 touchdowns from 35 catches marked him out as a consistent scoring option, and Flores-Calderon is determined to continue that trend into 2026.
“I try to prepare for every game as best I can, especially by analysing video footage to know who I’m facing and what to expect,” he said. “Preparing during the offseason, working out in the gym and running on the track give me the opportunity to show my full potential during games. I love running deep routes, having that great relationship with the quarterback and trust from the offensive coordinator are key to playing my best football.”
The Spaniard’s priorities for 2026 reflect a team-first approach, however, rather than an emphasis on individual targets.
“My goals for this season are the same as every year: prepare as best I can, get to know everyone on the team, build great relationships, win matches, and have fun doing it,” he maintained, aware that he arrives in Poland as a reference point for younger players within the Panthers system.
“My only advice is to keep enjoying it and, most importantly, keep working hard. If you do the right thing, sooner or later you’ll get your chance. And, when you do, aim even higher and stay hungry for success.”
With expectations building ahead of the new campaign, in which Wrocław will be hoping to compete with the likes of the Vienna Vikings and Rhein Fire, Flores-Calderon also had a direct message to Panthers supporters.
“We’re incredibly excited, and will prepare as best we can to show them top-tier football,” he promised. “It’s going to be an amazing season so come to the match, because we really need you!”
