Frankfurt Galaxy players will don special orange ‘Color Rush’ jerseys for the team’s 2025 season finale on 17th August in order to raise awareness about violence against women and girls.

The Madrid Bravos will be the visitors to Frankfurt’s PSD Bank Arena in the final game of a disappointing season for the Galaxy, who have already been ruled out of playoff contention with three games still to play, as the home team joins forces with new partner Cosnova to promote its ‘Cosnova Says No’ initiative. The uniforms reference the UN campaign ‘Orange the World’, which has been campaigning on the issue of female-oriented violence since 1991. The campaign jerseys will be auctioned after the game to raise funds for the FeM Mädchenhaus Frankfurt women’s shelter.

While this is the first partnership between the cosmetic brand and the football team, the Galaxy will support the initiative through its own and joint activities going forward, leveraging their reach, local presence and fanbase to further strengthen the fight against violence.

As a sports team and a family business based in the Rhine-Main area, Frankfurt Galaxy and Cosnova aim to create a safe environment for everyone,” Galaxy CEO Eric Reutemann explained. “The fight against violence towards women needs male allies who take a clear stand. We use our platform in a male-dominated team sport to lead by example, promote respectful relationships, and inspire others to follow our lead. Through our involvement with ‘Cosnova Says No’, we want to encourage our fans to protect women in dangerous situations, reflect on their own actions and address problematic behaviour in their social environment.”

Sparked by alarming BKA National Crime Report 2023 numbers that speak for themselves, ‘Cosnova Says No’ is taking a stand against a form of violence which, in Germany, sees a man kill a partner (or ex-partner) every two days, while, every four minutes, a woman experiences violence inflicted by her partner. The programme has donated a total of €220,000 to date, and expects to be in position to give another €150,000 this year.

American football thrives on team spirit: as players, we stand up for one another, have each other’s backs, and fight fairly for common goals,” Frankfurt linebacker Anthony Williams commented. “We apply these same principles to our engagement for a society without violence against women. As players, we want to lead by example and demonstrate that we actively support every woman‘s right to live free from fear.”
