GALAXY NOW ON A WANG AND A PRAYER

The Frankfurt Galaxy have been forced into sourcing replacements for two of their most influential players as they return from a bye week in the European League of Football.

Both quarterback Matthew McKay, who sustained an injury in Frankfurt’s last game, the home defeat to the Prague Lions, and defensive back Channing Stribling — who was already headed to IR after the game against the Paris Musketeers — will be out of action for some time, and the Galaxy have responded by signing two fresh A-imports.

McKay’s role, which has been influential in Frankfurt’s mixed 2025 campaign, will go to dual-threat QB Jameson Wang, who brings exceptional athleticism and experience from four strong years at Cornell University. Last season, Wang was named First-Team All-Ivy, leading the league with 2,533 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 303.3 total yards per game. He also established several school records at Cornell, including those for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (27) and most consecutive starts at quarterback (30). The Galaxy hope that Wang’s ability to extend plays with his legs and deliver under pressure will make him a true difference-maker in the McKay mould.

I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to play in the ELF for this great organisation and to work with Coach Andrus!” Jameson, who was invited to the Los Angeles Chargers’ rookie minicamp this offseason, said.

Stribling’s absence, meanwhile, sees cornerback Bijon Harris join the Frankfurt roster for the remainder of the 2025 season. A First Team All-California Region III kickoff returner at Cerritos College, Harris subsequently transferred to the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), where he played defensive back for the Rebels. Unlike Wang, however, Harris is no stranger to the European League of Football, having joined the Cologne Centurions midway through the 2024 season and quickly established himself as one of the league’s best DBs by ranking #41 in the official ELF Top 100 list. Highlights include a game with eight tackles, one interception and a fumble return touchdown — against the Galaxy of all teams — as well as an outstanding performance against the Hamburg Sea Devils, where he notched two interceptions and a pair of pass breakups.

Both players will make their Galaxy debut in the return game with the Prague Lions in the Czech capital this weekend.
