GALAXY PART WAYS WITH OC CORBIN
The Frankfurt Galaxy have been forced to make a significant coaching change ahead of this weekend’s European Football Alliance clash with the Munich Ravens, as offensive coordinator Coach Corbin leaves the organisation for ‘family reasons’.
The Galaxy announced that the decision to part ways had been reached mutually, ending Coach Corbin’s involvement with the team for the remainder of the 2026 season. Head coach Thomas Kösling was quick to pay tribute to his OC’s contribution while explaining the circumstances behind the departure.
“First of all, I want to thank Coach Corbin for his work, his commitment and his passion for the Frankfurt Galaxy,” Kösling began. “He is a phenomenal person and a great coach [but] sometimes life is about timing and, unfortunately, the timing was not right this time. I wish him nothing but the best, and it was a pleasure to have him here as our offensive coordinator.”
The move comes at an early, but pivotal, point in the inaugural EFA season, with Frankfurt looking to gain traction in a short 10-week regular season after a heart-breaking home defeat by the Paris Musketeers in Week 1. Rather than look outside the organisation, however, the Galaxy have promoted from within, as offensive line coach Joe Denney will immediately assume OC duties, having already played a central role in implementing the team’s offensive system.
“Coach Denney is the perfect replacement,” Kösling claimed, expressing confidence that the transition from Corbin would be seamless. “His energy, his work ethic and his leadership stand out. From the beginning, he was involved in installing the playbook and our philosophy. There will be a smooth transition, which is most important for us after this unfortunate change.”
Denney inherits responsibility for an offense that will be under immediate scrutiny when Frankfurt hosts the EFA’s ‘other’ German club on Saturday evening. The match-up offers the club little time to adjust following the coaching reshuffle, but continuity within the existing coaching staff should minimise disruption.
The Ravens arrive in Frankfurt having bulldozed an otherwise impressive Raiders Tirol side in Week 1, but both teams will benefit from having a week off as they take the full glare of the EFA spotlight as the league’s only fixture this weekend.
