LIONS LAND HENDERSON
The Prague Lions will have a new face under center in next year’s European League of Football, having snapped up former Paris Musketeers QB Jaylon Henderson.
The American is leaving the French team after just one season, despite leading the 7-5 Musketeers to the brink of the playoffs, although his move is understood to be largely tied with the return of 2024 Paris quarterback Zach Edwards, who was confirmed as ending his self-imposed hiatus last week.
Despite the form of Zavarian Smith helping to lift the Lions to not just their first wins over stronger opposition, but a first winning season in the ELF, Henderson appears to be the direction Prague is taking for 2026, as they look to fine tune in pursuit of a place in the postseason.
The former Boise State star threw for 2,135 yards and 29 touchdowns, and added 676 yards and nine scores on the ground, for Paris last season, only to see his campaign end in a bruising Week 14 road encounter with the Vienna Vikings. Prior to being signed by the Musketeers, Henderson took the Potsdam Royals to back-to-back German titles in 2023-24, highlighting a dual-threat capability that proved attractive to teams looking to change their fortunes in the ELF.
“We’re excited to welcome @jaylon_9_ , a former Boise State champion, back-to-back GFL champion and one of the best quarterbacks in Europe,” a brief quote on a Lions Instagram post confirmed. “After leading the Paris Musketeers last season, he’s bringing his talent, leadership, and winning mentality to the Lions.”
For the Lions, signing Henderson also goes some way to softening the blow of leading defensive player Arthur Kingdom heading to Madrid for 2026.
