PANTHERS RETURN TO ANCESTRAL HOME
Panthers Wrocław will take their place back under the lights of Tarczyński Arena this season, hosting Berlin Thunder in a June fixture that harks back to the club’s early days.
Tarczyński Arena is not unfamiliar territory for the Panthers, having long been tied to key moments in the team’s story, from their formal launch in 2013 to a domestic final that drew a five-figure crowd two years later. Their most recent appearance here, a 2024 win over the same Berlin opposition, offered a reminder of the appetite for the sport when it is presented on a grand scale.
“We are very excited that we will be playing our match against our league rivals, the Berlin Thunder, at Tarczyński Arena,” Panthers head coach Dave Likins commented. “This stadium provides a fantastic atmosphere and gives more Wrocław fans the opportunity to experience the Panthers, American football itself, and the new AFLE league in a world-class stadium.”
The Panthers, as one of the more established operations in the The League; Europe, offer a level of continuity that contrasts with the league’s broader start-up energy. Center Rafał Rogaczewski acknowledged the added edge that comes with stepping into a larger arena, calling it ‘additional excitement’ — and a prompt to deliver a performance worthy of the setting.
“A match at the largest stadium in this part of Poland always brings additional excitement for us and our fans,” Rogaczewski said. “This is why we will want to put on our best performance to thank the fans for their presence and add a victory to our tally. Come along, bring your friends and family, your trumpets, and your drums, and get ready for a fantastic spectacle!”
The fixture itself will be packaged accordingly. Panthers events have increasingly leaned into the hybrid model seen across European American football: part sporting contest, part full-day entertainment, with fan zones, live commentary aimed at first-time viewers, and the kind of accessible presentation designed to convert curiosity into repeat engagement.
