In front of 4,581 spectators, the Ravens appeared set for another comfortable evening after racing into a commanding lead, only for Frankfurt — having been on the end of something similar in their Week 1 loss to Paris — to produce one of the most determined comeback attempts of the young EFA season.

Munich could scarcely have asked for a better start as Bijon Harris returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown for the second game in a row, immediately silencing the home crowd and setting the tone for a dominant first half. The Ravens capitalised on the early momentum, controlling possession and repeatedly punishing a Frankfurt side that struggled to establish offensive rhythm.

Quarterback Russell Tabor directed an efficient Munich offense, using both his arm and legs to good effect, while the Ravens defense limited opportunities for Frankfurt quarterback Ethan Garbers and his supporting cast. By half-time, Munich held a 31-13 advantage and looked firmly on course to improve to 2-0, only for the complexion of the game to change dramatically after the break.

Frankfurt emerged from the locker room with renewed purpose, making adjustments on both sides of the ball. Defensively, the Galaxy slowed Munich’s rushing attack and generated increased pressure on Tabor, while Garbers began to find a rhythm under center, with wide receiver Brevin Easton becoming the focal point of the attack. A long touchdown connection between Garbers and Easton reignited both the contest and the crowd, and another scoring drive quickly followed as Frankfurt transformed a one-sided affair into a genuine contest.

Linebacker Sebastian Gauthier played a significant role in the revival, producing a spectacular interception that appeared to swing momentum firmly in the Galaxy’s favour, energising the Frankfurt sideline and helped fuel a stretch in which Munich suddenly found themselves under sustained pressure. For a period, the possibility of an unlikely comeback appeared increasingly realistic as Frankfurt repeatedly drove into dangerous territory, forcing the Ravens to continue leaning on their starters far longer than expected. Yet, every time the Galaxy threatened to move within striking distance, Munich found an answer.

Whether through crucial conversions, timely defensive stops or efficient offensive execution, the Ravens consistently responded at the moments they most needed to. Frankfurt never managed to reduce the deficit to a one-possession game, allowing the visitors to maintain control despite the shift in momentum.

The final score reflected two very different halves. Munich’s dominant opening 30 minutes ultimately proved decisive, while Frankfurt’s second-half performance offered encouragement despite the defeat.

The victory moves the Ravens to 2-0 ahead of a marquee Week 3 clash with the Paris Musketeers, while Frankfurt will look to secure its first EFA victory when it travels to Innsbruck to face the 0-2 Raiders Tirol. Paris share the league-leading mark, as do the Nordic Storm, who will look to repeat their opening day victory over Prague in the return fixture in the Czech capital.
