Panthers Wroclaw have strengthened their offense with the signing of Canadian import Dylan St. Pierre, who arrives in Lower Silesia following a three-season stint in the Canadian Football League.

St. Pierre, a native of Ottawa, developed at St. Francis Xavier CHS before embarking on a collegiate career with the University of Ottawa. Between 2016 and 2022, he appeared in 33 games for the Gee-Gees, primarily as a wide receiver, before transitioning to fullback at the professional level after signing with the BC Lions in 2023.

Now, after competing at the highest level of Canadian football, St. Pierre is taking his talents to Europe and the AFLE, where he is expected to feature predominantly at tight end while offering positional flexibility.

As an athlete and player, I’m always looking for ways to push my limits,” he said. “When my time with the Lions came to an end, I knew I wasn’t done competing at the highest level and felt unsatisfied. I knew there was an elite level of competition in Europe within the AFLE, which motivated me to keep working and seek such an opportunity. When the Panthers called, I jumped at the chance!”

Adjusting from the Canadian game to American rules presents its own challenges, but St. Pierre is confident the transition will be swift.

I’ll definitely have a period of adaptation to the rules and the sheer size of the field,” he noted. “However, I pride myself on being an adaptable player, and half the success in professional football is the ability to adapt to different situations.”

St Pierre added that his experience at the 2021 FBS Tropical Bowl All-Star Game and learning from local team-mates will ease the process as the Panthers look to benefit from his background as a collegiate receiver and as a professional blocker.

My experience playing wide receiver in college before switching positions at the professional level definitely gives me an advantage in the passing game,” St Pierre said. “I’ve honed my skills to become a tenacious blocker who can shut down defensive ends and give our offense a boost in the short-range game.

I want to be a key target in our passing game and also contribute significantly to the running game as a blocker. Our sole intention is to bring a championship to Wroclaw and make our fans proud every week.”
