WROCLAW SNAGS HARLEY JR

The Wroclaw Panthers have strengthened their receiving corps ahead of the inaugural American Football League Europe campaign with the addition of former Stuttgart Surge wide receiver Mike Harley Jr.

The 28-year-old American learned his football skills at the renowned St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida, before playing for five seasons with the Miami Hurricanes, racking up 182 catches for 2,158 yards and 15 touchdowns. Despite excellent performances in his final two years of college, however, Harley was overlooked in the 2022 NFL Draft, before signing as a UDFA with the Cleveland Browns. After a year in Ohio, he tried out for the XFL’s DC Defenders and CFL Calgary Stampeders, as well as the Miami Dolphins, before moving to Europe in 2025.

Harley, who openly admits to knowing nothing about Poland beyond the identity of the Panthers, is eager to continue his European adventure, despite the demise of the Stuttgart Surge, with whom he won the ELF crown in 2025.

Football is football,” he exclaims. “It’s a game for kids — only, here, it’s more physical. But my best years are still ahead of me and I can’t wait for the whole world to see it.”

Grateful to be a part of Florida’s football output, and similarly for being able to play at the University of Miami as it both allowed his family to watch him play, and provide ‘motivation and inspiration for the young people in my area’, Harley has wasted little time in ingratiating himself to Panthers fans by tabbing his new team as the likely AFLE frontrunners…

Get your popcorn ready!” he smiles. “A new league and the Panthers are going for history by becoming the first-ever AFLE champions!”

Having been a favourite target of Surge QB Reilly Hennessey, Harley already knows that former Frankfurt Galaxy QB Jameson Wang will be throwing the passes in Wroclaw, the American having been signed shortly before Christmas.
